So, did you guys really think I was just lying around doing nothing? Well, not true! I've been working on a surprise... Balloon twisting ;) Yep, from now on, Pinta-Narizes has this service to provide as well. I hope you like it.

Just like in any other activity, face painting requires some care... Therefore, there are hygiene rules I try to keep without exception:
- use of a new/washed clean sponge per person
- wash/substitution of the materials (brushes, sponges, palettes, water) after each painting
- use of a cotton bud for lip painting (to avoyd any kind of infection)
This way, I can paint loooooooooooooooooads of faces with nooooooooooooo problems ;)

When I was painting faces on June 1st, I've handed a lot of business cards and asked the children's parents to e-mail me the photos of the kids' painted faces, so that I could post them on this blog... I am very disappointed and sad to say that, until today, I didn't get a single one! I know this kind of activities takes time and patience, but I am, by nature, restless and proactive :-p

It went really well! I started painting at 2 p.m. and finished at 6 p.m., non-stop. I had to wait for an opening to quickly pack my things and leave, before more mini-clients arrived... I've painted butterflies, strawberries, lions, clowns, spider-men, flowers, princesses, cats, dogs, pierrots, hearts... A real party! And I had a great time and lots of fun :) Those four hours just flew by. A big kiss and thanks to all the boys and girls who kept my company and made my Sunday afternoon be very, very special ;)

It is official! Last night I went to make the business cards for my new activity :) They turned out really, really well (all that modesty eheheheheh). Now I have to focus on June 1st. I am confidant and I hope a lot of children turn up for me to paint their faces...
Last night I started wondering what sort of lunatic would decide to start a non-essencial business in a time of crisis like the one we're going through right now. Me, of course! It is true that things are not going so weel now, but initiative is what has been lacking in this country prosperity forgot. Besides, what good it will do me to just stay home sobbing because money is not enough to pay the bills? I may as well get a hold of my strength and energy and turn it into something productive and, most of all, fun!
I'm done with the passivity of the portuguese people...

Just for you to have a small idea of how crazy I am... On the 5th of February (Shrovetide), I left home looking like THIS. I almost scared the toll worker to death! eheheheheh. When I arrived at the shop, the wig wasn't holding on anymore, so I decided to go to the supermarket and buy some hair pins to help fixing the coming disaster. Imagime me going shopping looking like that... LOL! Very nice! Well, the good thing about it was that some people who saw me at the supermarket went to see where I worked and they brought their kids later on, for me to paint, "Yeah, I saw you at the supermarket this morning... You look very nice! and other nice remarks made my faith in the portuguese sense of humour come back. After all, it's not every day that you go to a shop and your attended by a gueisha, by Noddy, Braveheart, a bishop or even a nice puppy ;)

Of course that I had no experience, and so I had to find a way to practise... And guess who was the chosen victim! Miguel, of course. I must say he was a real dear, who not only endured being painted and washed endless times, but he also took photos and made valuable suggestions for the improvement and success of the cause. I really owe him a big thanks :) I also want to thank Vanda Lourenço for the invitation and for descovering in me a talent I didn't know I had. And a big thanks to my colleagues, who supported me me and "forced" me to paint them at the shop, thus advertising my work all day long ;)
